Empathy Howling

36 x 48 inches | acrylic on canvas

a lie made out of love for truths futurebound

Passing through presents by way of a comet’s tail flare

Now coursing as if in a circuit

Dancing

Not taking up too much time

Just enough to empower a distinction

Around it you wrap your fingers

From pointer to pinky

Affording a grip you thought it had in itself

Making contact by pressing palms

A harsher grasp

A less ephemeral sound

Letting aftershocks redefine its character

For when the condition of boundaries coalesce

Right up against the relevant path to empathy

You find yourself in static

Enthroned by it

Heavy with the next direction

Before weightlessness dawns

Color must be prepared to break light

To revel in rorschaching the one-sided

Seeing what isn’t double

Quiet as a stone

Howling in visible.
